Critique: Wilderness Covers

Over the past week I have actually had a lot going on in the design class.  I was working on the Simplicity feature layout which got pushed back.  I have been working on my Meredith project presentation which I have to present next Monday.  And I did covers for the Wilderness feature that got moved up.  SO, for now, I am only going to share the Wilderness covers as the other projects are still pending.

Because this story was about being out in the wilderness, I decided to pitch 2 photo covers rather than a studio cover.  I was going to draw the third cover, the illustration, but with a filter over the image I thought it looked really nice, so I ran with it.  In the end, I was asked to keep re-working that design with a man vs. wild theme to it.  I think the photos were really well done, but I do like the illustration a lot, so I am looking forward to polishing it up over the next few days.

Up next: I will keep working on both the simplicity feature and the Meredith prototype.  Those will keep me plenty busy.

  1. Although I am not exactly sure what the man is doing, I really like your first Wilderness cover. The fact that I don't know is part of the intrigue you could say. I feel like I didn't get a really good look at these on Thursday. I am impressed by how much you have been able to get done with all those projects!
