Response: Logos in theory versus in action
I have a lot of quirks when it comes to photography. When I am working I easily get annoyed with silly things that I really have no control over, such as buildings being farther apart than I want them to be and specific actions taking longer to unfold than I would prefer. And now I find myself doing the same thing with design. Today in class we joked about how some titles sound good but don't necessarily look good. That is exactly how I feel about the title for the publication I am working on, Home Canvas. It sounds nice enough, but I am afraid the words/concept make it hard to work with visually. We did discover in class today there may be some nice subtle ways to incorporate the idea of a canvas into the logo/cover design. But aside from a border, I just do not like the word canvas very much. I am guessing this sounds ridiculous to a lot of people, but maybe some of my fellow "visual" people know what I am talking about?
